SEVEN WITCHES Vs. JACK KOSHICK: Bounced Checks And Threats Of Bodily Harm
August 20, 2004SEVEN WITCHES, the band featuring former SAVATAGE guitarist Jack Frost and ex-HELSTAR singer James Rivera, have issued the following press release regarding their dealings with well-known heavy metal concert promoter Jack Koshick (Milwaukee Metalfest, March Metal Meltdown):
"To date, SEVEN WITCHES has played three Koshick events, and until recently, was always treated well. However, following this year's Milwaukee debacle, several payment checks, including the one given WITCHES' mainman/guitarist Jack Frost, bounced. A call to the promoter promised a (guaranteed) money order within five days. Yet, after the specified timeframe, still no money. Worse yet, Koshick didn't return any of the 35 phone calls from Frost, or his attorney. 'If he had just picked up the phone,' explained Frost, 'told me he was broke, maybe we could work something out, like $100 a month or something. I hear we aren't the only ones out money.'
"[After Frost contacted the Milwaukee police] to lodge a formal complaint, [he got a phone call from Koshick], but rather than make good on the debt, Jack threatened Frost, his band and family. 'I just want people to know what kind of person they're dealing with,' explained Frost. 'He said, 'I know where you live. I've got some people that will come around and beat you up.' He said I don't have the balls to go to the press and tell everyone the truth! I'd heard the rumors, but now I know why people won't deal with him.'"
